Biocide
Bacteria exist everywhere. If not handled correctly, the formation can become contaminated during a downhole intervention job using bacteria filled source water. This leads to introduction of oil devouring bacteria which converts the sulphates in the water to deadly hydrogen sulphide (H2S), souring the formation and making the crude oil more dangerous to handle and of lesser value.

Description
ABC-110 industrial bactericide is a liquid, aldehyde-based formulation designed for the control of bacterial growth in waters associated with petroleum production.
Application
ABC-110 bactericide can be used to control bacteria in waterflood operations, in water disposal systems, water injection systems and in water which collects in tank bottoms. It is particularly recommended for controlling sulfate-reducing bacteria in waters used for polymer flood programs, and will not interfere with viscosity characteristics of the polymer agent.

Description
ABC-160 is a highly water-soluble, liquid glutaraldehyde bactericide that is effective against a wide variety of anaerobic bacteria like desulfovibrio desulfuricans and aerobic bacteria such as pseudomonas bacillus, klebsiella, and rhodotorula.
Application
The fast-acting ABC-160 microbiocide controls bacterial growth in seawater and high salinity produced waters as well as high or low pH waters. Its bacterial activity is not retarded by high concentrations of electrolytes, and it is equally as effective in freshwater systems as it is in highly saline produced waters.
