Setting Time Modifiers (Cemakoll®) — Retarders

Cemakoll-212 is a cement retarder mainly used in cementing operations where medium well temperatures are experienced. The dark brown, water soluble powder is used to extend the pumping time or thickening time and helps provide excellent compressive strength for cement slurry. The blend helps simplify the design of thixotropic slurries. The product performs effectively at medium temperatures. When combined with certain retarder-intensifiers, Cemakoll-212 works well in freshwater cement systems at BHCTs as high as 300°F (149°C). The thickening time of cement is decreased as wellbore temperatures increases. It is applicable for primary and secondary cementing jobs.
