Proscal 135 scale preventative is an aminomethylene phosphoric acid scale inhibitor which was developed especially for use in controlling barium sulfate scaling. It is an excellent inhibitor for control of calcium carbonate deposition and is also useful in inhibiting calcium sulfate deposition. This product inhibits scale formation by both chelation and crystal distortion mechanisms. Proscal 135 scale preventative is recommended for the inhibition of barium sulfate, calcium sulfate, and calcium carbonate at concentrations of 5 to 25 ppm. This treatment range depends on the severity of the problem and the water characteristics. It is suitable for use in either squeeze applications or in continuous type treatments.
