AGA-422
Gelling Agents (AGA®) — Breakers
AGA-422 is water-insoluble, encapsulated oxidizing breaker containing sodium bromate. AGA-422 is mainly used to reduce the viscosity of fracturing fluid after proppant placement. AGA-422 comprises of white granules surrounded by an encapsulation mainly used where downhole temperature is up to 200-325 oF/93-162oF. It is advisable to carry out pilot testing in the field for compatibility of AGA-422 . Water-based gelled fracturing fluids with guar and guar derivative polymers are used for viscosity development, leak-off control and proppant transport during hydraulic fracturing operations. After proppant has been placed in the fracture, the crosslinked fluid needs to be degraded and get hydrocarbons to flow out of the fractured formation.
