AGA-462

Gelling Agents (AGA®) — Breakers

AGA-462 is a water soluble, oxidizing breaker used to reduce the viscosity of fracturing fluid after proppant placement. AGA-462 is mainly used to break guar polymers via oxidation pathways. The broken solution can be easily pumped out of the well and disposed off. Water based fracturing fluids gelled with guar and guar derivative polymers are used for viscosity development, leak off control and proppant transport during hydraulic fracturing operations. After proppant has been placed in the fracture, the crosslinked fluid needs to be degraded and get hydrocarbons to flow out of the fractured formation. This is accomplished by addition of AGA-462 to the fracturing fluids that break the crosslinked polymer molecule into smaller pieces of lower molecular weight.
